This policy explains what information Rum and Ringtails (“we”, “us”) collects when you visit rumandringtails.com, buy from our shop or join our newsletter, and what we do with it. Short version: we collect what we need to run the shop and the Logbook, we never sell your personal information, and you can ask us to delete it.
What We Collect
- Order details: your name, email, shipping and billing address, phone number (if given) and what you bought.
- Payment details: handled by our payment processors, Square and PayPal. We never see or store your full card number.
- Newsletter: your email address and name (if given) when you sign up.
- Messages: anything you send us through the contact form or by email.
- Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed and how you got here, collected through cookies and analytics tools.
How We Use It
- to process, print, ship and support your orders,
- to send order and shipping updates,
- to send our newsletter if you signed up (unsubscribe any time from any email),
- to answer your messages,
- to keep the site secure and prevent fraud, and
- to understand which pages and products people like so we can improve the site.
Who We Share It With
We share only what each service needs to do its job:
- Printful prints and ships our shirts, so it receives your name, shipping address, email or phone (for delivery updates) and order contents.
- Payment processors (Square and PayPal, depending on what you choose at checkout) receive your payment and billing details and handle them under their own privacy policies.
- MailPoet stores our newsletter list and sends our emails.
- WooCommerce, Jetpack and our web host run the store and site and may process order and usage data on our behalf.
- Analytics providers receive anonymous or pseudonymous usage data.
- Shipping carriers receive what they need to deliver your package.
- Authorities, only when the law requires it.
We do not sell or rent your personal information.
Cookies and Analytics
We use cookies to keep your cart working, remember you when you log in, measure site traffic and track affiliate referrals. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but the cart and checkout need some cookies to work.

How Long We Keep It
We keep order records as long as needed for taxes, accounting and warranty claims. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is kept in aggregate.
Your Choices and Rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or unsubscribe from emails at any time. Depending on where you live (for example California, the EU or the UK), you may have extra rights, such as data portability or objecting to certain processing. Children
Our shop is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Security
We use HTTPS and trusted providers to protect your data, but no system is perfect. Keep your account password private.
Changes
If we update this policy, we will change the date at the top of this page.
